Courtney is Director of Policy at Goodleap, a leading financial technology company focused on accelerating the deployment of sustainable home solutions from solar panels and batteries to energy-efficient HVAC and heat pumps. She oversees government relations, policy, and regulatory strategy at the state level (covering interior US states) and federal level including numerous IRA funding opportunities.
Courtney has nearly 20 years of experience in clean energy; she’s worked extensively in the areas of state and federal energy policy, utility energy efficiency and renewable programs, and decarbonization initiatives. Courtney came to GoodLeap after leading the Policy & Strategy team for SunPower covering policy and regulatory matters across the Mid-west, Rockies, and Southwest as well as federal programs. Prior to that she worked directly with electric and gas utilities, across the US and Canada, as Director of Distributed Energy Resources & Electrification Strategy at E Source. Her experience also includes policy and project development with cities, counties, states, and federal agencies while at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. She also directly supported clean energy initiatives with state legislators while working with the National Conference of State Legislatures. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and International Relations from Bowdoin College, and a Masters in Energy Law and Policy from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
